Calabrese Giuseppe
He starts studying the French Horn with his father, Principal Horn at Teatro San Carlo in Napoli, when he was fourteen. He continues his studies guided by professor Lisa, graduating with honors from Conservatorio di musica di Salerno in only three years.
He pursues his studies as a member of “Orchestra Giovanile Italian” as Principal Horn. He took part and won various auditions announced by the major Italian musical institutions, collaborating with Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Orchestra sinfonica di Santa Cecilia, Fenice di Venezia, Orchestra della RAI di Napoli, Ente Lirico di Cagliari, Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, playing under the lead of important directors as Giulini, Pretre, Sinopoli, Chung, Oren, Muti, Gatti, Dudamel, Pappano, Rostropovic, Morricone and many more.
He obtained his degree in French Horn in the “Conservatorio di musica di Santa Cecilia” in Rome.
He wrote and published original compositions for various french horn formations, such as brass dectet and quintet, which were edited by “Wicky edizioni musicali” and are highly appreciated by the specialized international critics.
He is also dedicated in transcriptions and adaptation and arrangements for quintets and brass which are part of most of the repertoire played by “Pentaphon”, both during concerts and celebrations in the Vatican.
All the music on the CD "The Silver Trumpets" is the result of careful and accurate arrangements by the maestro Calabrese.
